Powerball is an American lottery jackpot game
Powerball fever is raising the cities with less than 10 hours to go before drawing, It stood at $325 million Saturday and rose to $500 million Tuesday, the official expect to sell more than 105,000 tickets every minute before the drawing.

There has been no Powerball winner since Oct. 6 – that’s 16 consecutive drawings without a winner. It’s the second-highest jackpot in US lottery history, behind only the $656 million Mega Millions prize in March.
The drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. ET/0315 GMT, and ticket sales cease from one to two hours earlier, depending on the state.
Powerball is sold in 42 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. There have been nearly 300 jackpot winners over the past 20 years, taking home payouts of over $11.6 billion.
The winner taking the cash option would get $360.2 million after federal taxes.
The federal government keeps 25% of the jackpot for federal taxes.
Most states withhold between 5% and 7%. There is no withholding in states without a state income tax, such as Delaware, South Dakota, and Texas. A New York City winner would pay more than 12%, since the state takes 8.97% and the city keeps 3.6%
